Has Moncton Liberal MP Brian Murphy attended a Speech from the Throne before?
Is Brian Murphy serious?
There are several angles one could take to criticize the Government's Speech from the Throne but Mr. Murphy is upset that Moncton isn't mentioned in it?
The Throne Speech was pretty broad as it is for any government. It's not meant to get into the weeds and start announcing projects. Sure a convention centre is a big deal for Moncton but Brandon, Manitoba could care less just as Moncton could care less about what Brandon gets. It just doesn't go into that kind of detail.
Mr. Murphy may want to visit here to find out what a Speech from the Throne is all about. It is broad and it is supposed to be. Good to see one reader of the T and T noticed the same thing in the comments.

Nice to see that Mr. Murphy is on the ball as far as a conference centre is concerned, but now let's him say something about the poor folks in Moncton who are going to lose their jobs because AOL is cutting back. Those jobs were created with government assistance. Is AOL going to pay back some or all of the assistance it received from the government? Bet not.

Mr. Murphy is an embarassment to the constituents of Moncton-Dieppe-Riverview. Why would he even think for a moment that this specific topic would have been mentioned in a speech from the throne. An amateur politician as we now see. Spinks...as usual...your comments are right on!

Wrong: I'm not embarrassed by a representative mentioning the interests of my community in a forum dominated by Western and Ontario and Quebec interests. I'm happy someone is. My federal government certainly isn't listening.

Wrong: First of all, they are cousins. And secondly, the provincial Murphy is doing something substantive with health care, not just closing hospitals and reducing beds. Mike Murphy is saving health care while his predecessors were dismantling it one piece at a time.

New Brunswick couple working out west claims Government jumping the gun by calling people home to work

Saint John- A couple from New Brunswick, now living in Alberta, feels New Brunswick may have jumped the gun in calling for people to come back home from out west.
Leigha Mccarty and her husband, Dennis, now live and work in Red Deer. Leigha tells our newsroom they wrote Premier Shawn Graham when the call came to come back but neither she nor her husband can get jobs here. He's a driving instructor for heavy equipment and she works in the records department at a hospital.
" I wouldn't be able to get a job at the hospital back home because I don't speak french.
She says one posting the government put her husband on to was over a year old. She says jobs msy be coming in the near future but there aren't many right now.
Meantime, spokesman for the population growth secretariat. Brendan Langille, tells our newsroom his department contacted Dennis Mccarty.
"And not only directed him to our website nbjobs.ca but also but him in touch with several contacts in his field, so that's basically what happened in a nutshell.
Langille claims there are plenty of jobs available, but Mccarty says they're not willing to come home to flip burgers.
